Optus is one of the largest telecom operators of Australia with millions of users. It is owned by Singtel Company (based on Singapore). Optus, earlier Cable & Wireless Optus Pty Limited brings the LTE faster network connection for the users of Australia. If you want to browse something, the browsing speed will be up to 100MB/sec. It is incredible and gives you more convenience while you are working on an important assignment. Before you start browsing, you need to configure the APN settings in your device to use the network data.

Here, I am going to list all the necessary APN Settings for Android, Windows, iOS Devices, Firefox, Ubuntu and BlackBerry. Go through the list to get your desired APN Settings and enter as per the instructions.

Optus Network Frequencies keep varying countrywide. However, Optus 3G Network minimum and maximum frequencies are UMTS 900 MHz and UMTS 2100 MHz. Optus 4G Network minimum and maximum frequencies are LTE Band 7 2600 and LTE Band 28 700 respectively. Furthermore, the maximum downloading speed you get is around 301.5 Mbps whereas; the maximum uploading speed is about 100 Mbps.

Optus APN Settings for Cell phone and Tablet

APN is the short form of “Access Point Name.” It is basically a setting for your phone that allows you to browse the internet and send/receive MMS. You need to be very careful while configuring the APN settings. It is case sensitive setting and you have to follow the same case and same order carefully. Without it, you cannot browse anything and even cannot send/receive the MMS. So, follow the guide below to configure the APN Settings for Internet & MMS.

Since the APN settings are case sensitive, the capital or small letters can make a big difference. If you have to put the phrase “yesinternet” in the MMS and Internet Settings, don’t try to put it as “Yesinternet” or “yesInternet,” etc. Put the correct string in the same case to use the internet & MMS services.

Find here the settings for internet. Follow the steps below to configure the settings for the Internet in your Android phone.

Go to the “Settings” of your Android device.

Tap the option “Connections” from here and select the “Mobile Networks” category.

Here, you need to select the “Access Point Names” to configure the new APN settings.

On the right top corner of your Android phone, you will see an option “Add.” Select this option to add the new settings for Optus.

For this, once again, you need to go to the Settings and follow the same categories as discussed above. Once you are in the Add APN category, on the top right corner of the screen, you will see the option “Add.” Tap this option to add the new APN settings for the Internet. If any field is blank in the settings I am listing below; you also need to leave it blank.
